I've tested the ecal 2.4 beta module, and I found some bugs: -when accessing /ecal/addevent.php it appears the following: "Entry repeat: (e.g. each Friday in the 2. Week) to: Day Month:  Year:"
you forgot some ";" .
I'm coming again with an old request, if possible, 2 new blocks for members within ecal module: 1. a block - showing a list of events from a chosen category for each member (every member has his preferred category); 2. a block - similar to previous block, but for a specific location. In such a way, a member might see in 2 side-a-side blocks (center left and center right) all the events from his preferred category (no matter location) and from his own city (no matter of the category). For example: I'm a basketball fan, so I'll see a list with all the basketball matches from my country, and also be able to see what other sport events might come in my city.

That is right. I'm using Opera and that the way it shows... I admint this is not happening with IE. I corrected this issue myself by editing /ecal/addevent.php. Try searching _CAL_MONATH and _CAL_JAHR ; You'll se that above each one of them there is a " " without ";". You might also add ": " after "_D", just some lines above.
Anyway, it seems that The Italian Language Project team modified again ecal:
Zitat:Thanks to the collaboration of the staff of http://www.e-xoopport.it have been brought the following modifications: - resolved problem Javascript in the block (edited by Redpit) - new additions images for the module (edited by soulmiki). The old images have been inserted in the folder old. The Italian Language Project John
Plese tell me if my feature request seems resonable for ecal developping.
Thanks.

ecal 2.4 bug
on mouse over for a specific day in "Block Calendar" if there are more events for that day, those event are shown in descending order by user submitting date and not by the starting time of that event.

Hello Nobse,
I've tested the ecal 2.4 beta 2 and encountered some errors: when activating either "Event in Location" or "Event in Categorie" block I receive the following error:
-- Error Number: 2 [Warning] Error Message: mysql_fetch_array(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource In File: C:\WM\www\exoops\class\database\mysql.php On Line: 135 --
The link "Ask only the block configuring!!" is incorrect, not pointing to the correct url: it brings me to http://127.0.0.1/modules/ecal/blockconf.php?op=edit instead of http://127.0.0.1/exoops/modules/ecal/blockconf.php?op=edit ; don't know why. Accessing the correct url brings me to another error: -- Error Number: 2 [Warning] Error Message: mysql_fetch_array(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource In File: C:\WM\www\exoops\class\database\mysql.php On Line: 135 --
(I'm using WM Server Tools on a Win XP machine)
Thank you for accepting my proposal for ecal module: the 2 new blocks with member's location and category choice.

me again ...
The new blocks work just fine. Thanks again for implementing this ideea. I don't want to be ungrateful but I feel I have to ask you some questions and make some suggestions: 1. there should be a message for anonymous visitors if any of this blocks is enabled for them to access;
2. what are the meaning of the 2 Entry repeat? Does that mean the events are to be repeated (a) every 1/2/3/4 week(s) and (b) in some week until a final date? If this is correct, than you should add the 1 year repeat period , a very useful interval when using personal data (birthdays and other events). 3. what happens with old events (private and public events)? Do they get deleted or will them come together building a large database?
4. in the end I'm asking you to consider an enhancement of this features: the possibility of selecting multiple location or categories not just one category or location.
Thanks

Hello I have tested ecal 2.4 beta 2.2 (fresh install) and encountered some problems:
1. in blocks admin I receive the following error twice: Zitat:Error Number: 2 [Warning] Error Message: mysql_fetch_array(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource In File: C:\WM\www\exoops\class\database\mysql.php On Line: 135
2. after setting up the blocks order, they only get registered as side left, no matter what I choose (center-left/ center-right etc.)
3. in groups admin , same error, twice: Zitat:Error Number: 2 [Warning] Error Message: mysql_fetch_array(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource In File: C:\WM\www\exoops\class\database\mysql.php On Line: 135
4. when adding a reminder (I believe that is from my part, just windows): Zitat:Error Number: 2 [Warning] Error Message: date(): Windows does not support dates prior to midnight (00:00:00), January 1, 1970 In File: C:\WM\www\exoops\modules\ecal\remind.php On Line: 13
5. same user can register many times with announce feature (teilnehmen.php), not just one time per event;
6. if activating the "event in location" or "event in category" blocks, as anonymous I receive the following error: Zitat:Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in C:\WM\www\exoops\modules\ecal\blocks\userblock.php on line 89
7. In event in location or event in category there are not listed today?s events that had began but did not ended.
Suggestions:
1. if no near future events it would be nice listing a message like " No immediate events"
2. in case of activating the "event in location" or "event in category" blocks for anonymous access, it would be nice a message "Register for accessing events";
If any of this errors are just because of me, I apologize. I'll reinstall WM Server Tools tomorrow ; maybe it's a bad setting from my pc. I'll write you again tomorrow.
Sorin

Ich denke mal du hast keine neue Installation gemacht. Hast das einfach über eine bestehende rüberkopiert. Da fehlen natürlich die Datenbanken. einmal _update/update2.3-2.4.php |

I saw that in calendar block I don't have posted the icons from events and news. I have changed this 2 lines in blocks/ecal.php and now it's working. The 1-st change is in line 406, and the 2-nd change, in line 469. I replaced the image source path from: $xoopsConfig['url']."/modules/ecal/images/mini_news.gif to: $imagepath."/mini_news.gif
and
from: $xoopsConfig['url']."/modules/ecal/images/mini_calendar.gif to: $imagepath."/mini_calendar.gif

Hello Bama, Hello Nobse! I have installed ecal 2.4 and encountered a small problem: the drop-down menus with location and category from blockconf.php are showing the items not in alphabetical order, but in the order they were added from admin panel. How can I correct this issue?
Thank you. Sorin |

Same thing while adding an event. But, looking at what you did, I managed to modify the addevent.php file at the line 67:
from: $query1 = $db->query("SELECT lid, location FROM ".$db->prefix("ecal_location")."");
to: $query1 = $db->query("SELECT lid, location FROM ".$db->prefix("ecal_location")." ORDER BY location ASC");
It worked... so I got the feeling that I'm starting to learn php and mysql.
